Welcome to New Board Members

We are pleased to start 2025 by introducing our new Independent Board Members:

  • Ian Curtis
  • Imogen Davenport
  • Dr Jessica Picken
  • Becky Walters

Ian Curtis, a former professional cricketer for Surrey, helped to establish both Oxford University’s nationally-pioneering £220m Campaign in the late 1980’s and the University’s Environmental Change Institute (ECI) in 1991. Ian has recently left ECI after 35+ years of fundraising and public engagement.

Imogen Davenport has been a co-opted member of the DLNP since 2020 (and has been involved with the LNP since its formation) but is now an independent Board Member! Imogen has been closely involved for over 20 years in nature conservation in Dorset, including development of biodiversity strategy, landscape-scale approaches, planning policy and Local Wildlife Sites (SNCIs), as well as development of the Dorset Local Nature Partnership itself.

Dr Jessica Picken is a skilled aquatic ecologist with 9 years of experience in the field. Her PhD research focused on understanding the impact of summer droughts on fish communities in chalk streams. Since completing her doctorate, Dr. Picken has worked across both the public and private sectors, contributing to a variety of projects.

Becky Walters lives in Poole and is a mum to three daughters, wife, sailor, sea-swimmer, netball-player and volunteer conservationist. In 2020, after making a professional pivot from a 15-year career focusing on training educators, Becky moved to learning and organisational development at a broader level (training any adult in any organisation).

We are glad to have them on board and look forward to working with them!
